The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship between two tests of
attention and two tests of motor inhibition. The four tests studied were: Figural Visual
Scanning Test, Auditory Target Detection Test, Stop Signal Test and Go/ No Go Test.
These were administered on a normal sample of 60 subjects (30 males and 30 females).
They were in the age range of 16-30 years, who had completed ten years of formal
education. After administration of all the tests, a correlational analysis was performed to
find out the relationship between the variables. Results showed a significant association
between the two processes of attention and inhibition. They are related and a deficit in
one process can influence the other.
