From the Editor’s Desk
Am happy that now we are celebrating Golden Jubilee issue of the JIAAP in January 2024. As an experienced editor with 18 years of service since October 2005, to the Journal of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (JIAAP), I have gained valuable insights into the field of editing a professional journal. From its traditional values and richness of research papers raised to SCOPUS in 2012 and continued without compromising the quality up to 2018. When I have entrusted Editorship to some of our colleagues, we may not be able to maintain the standard. The Scopus indexing was stopped for five years. Hopefully, now we will apply and get it soon. I have now tried to maintain the standard and UGC CARE listed since January 2023.
The JIAAP aims to publish original, empirical papers and critical reviews of the literature on research and practices relevant to applied psychological and behavioural processes. The journal covers a variety of topics, including intervention techniques and approaches, in multi-faceted psychological studies on the development of social, cognitive, mental health, and achievement-related outcomes, assessment, etc. Our goal is to provide a platform for scholars and practitioners to share their research findings and best practices that can benefit the field of applied psychology.
Our team at JIAAP is passionate about ensuring that the journal is accessible to a wider audience, and we have taken the necessary steps to include it in all databases for indexing. This effort will ensure that our readership can easily access our articles and expand their knowledge in the field of applied psychology. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the IAAP Executive Council under the Presidentship of Prof. MVR Raju, and the Editorial Board for their unwavering support and timely help in bringing out the issues as scheduled. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in making the JIAAP a grand success.
The JIAAP is a valuable addition to the field of applied psychology, and we look forward to receiving more original and impactful contributions. We welcome submissions from scholars and practitioners who are interested in advancing our understanding of the psychological and behavioural processes that influence various settings. Our journal will continue to serve as a platform for cutting-edge research and innovative practices that can benefit the field of applied psychology. I record my sincere gratitude to Prof. B. Mukhopadhyay, for handed over the Journal with me as IAAP Secretary in the presence of Prof. K.V. Kaliappan. I never forget the guidance and support extended by Prof. Sultan Akhtar, Prof. G.P. Thakur, Prof. Habib Ahmed, Prof. A.K. Sen and many other senior colleagues from Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP).
