Policies

Publication ethics

Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (JIAAP) expects all submissions to meet high ethical standards. The principles below align with international best practice and the editorial review checklist used for the journal website (including expectations aligned with COPE).

COPE alignment

JIAAP adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for responsible publishing behaviour by editors, reviewers, and authors. Allegations of misconduct are assessed seriously and may follow COPE flowcharts and institutional procedures where appropriate.

Ethical compliance & human participants

Studies involving human participants must state that informed consent was obtained and that approval was granted by an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or ethics committee, in line with national regulations and institutional policy.

Ethical approval statement in the manuscript

For all research involving human subjects, authors must identify the ethics committee or IRB that approved the study. A clear statement must be included in the Method section confirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants (or documenting why consent was waived when ethically and legally permissible).

Human and animal rights

Research must comply with applicable principles for the humane treatment of participants and, where animal research is reported, with recognised standards for animal welfare and regulatory approval. Authors should describe safeguards for vulnerable groups and data protection consistent with their ethics approval.

Post-publication integrity

JIAAP maintains the integrity of the academic record. If a significant error is identified after publication, the journal may publish a corrigendum or erratum. In cases of proven misconduct or plagiarism, the journal follows COPE-oriented procedures, which may include formal retraction of the article.

Note: This page summarises core ethics expectations. Authors should also follow the latest submission guidelines and publication policy.
