The review process
JIAAP uses a three-tier process. Manuscripts are reviewed under double-blind conditions where appropriate: reviewers do not know authors’ identities, and authors do not know reviewers’ identities. The corresponding author will be informed of reviewers’ comments as applicable. The paper may be accepted as is, require revision (major or minor), or be considered not acceptable. The editor’s decision is binding. Authors may withdraw the manuscript if they do not find the suggested revisions acceptable.
-
Tier 1 — Editorial screening
Initial assessment of scope, format, and minimum quality; desk rejection where appropriate.
-
Tier 2 — Peer review
Typically two or more expert reviewers; double-blind assessment of originality, methods, and ethics.
-
Tier 3 — Decision
Accept, minor/major revision, or reject; revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers.
Peer review in detail
The peer review process of the Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (JIAAP) follows a structured approach to support high-quality publication. On submission, manuscripts receive initial screening for scope, guideline adherence, and overall quality. Papers that fail these checks may be desk-rejected.
Submissions that pass screening enter double-blind peer review: reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors, and author identities are not disclosed to reviewers. Typically, two or more experts evaluate originality, methods, contribution, clarity, and ethics.
Based on reports, the editor may accept, request minor or major revision, or reject. Authors should revise systematically. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the same reviewers. The process supports transparency, fairness, and integrity.
