The study investigated the relationship of support (supervisory and family) as predictors
and work and family satisfaction as outcome of work-family conflict and work-family
enrichment. Work-family balance was represented by the relationship between workfamily conflict and work-family enrichment. Data was collected from 127 married, full time
working women, employed in a range of organizations representing various occupational
groups. The data was analyzed using correlations and hierarchical regression analysis.
Results showed a significant, main effect of supervisory support and work-family
enrichment and a significant interaction effect of supervisory support and family-work
conflict on work satisfaction. Additionally, there was a significant, main effect of family
support, family-work enrichment and work-family enrichment on family satisfaction. A
significant, negative interaction effect between supervisory support and work-family
conflict on family satisfaction was also found.
