The aim of the present study was to assess the knowledge, awareness and practices
of school going children regarding menstruation. The study was conducted among
rural school children in Omalur, Salem district. The Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices
with regard to menstruation among female students who have reached menarche (N=109)
was studied using the survey method. A semi-structured questionnaire was used for
the study. Menstrual hygiene program was conducted for all the students owing to
observation of poor Knowledge, Attitude and Practices among the students.
