Religions are philosophies of life to help human beings choose their ways of living
and open new frontiers of consciousness for them. The first part of the paper reviews

and have significance for psychology as a science of healing. The second part of the
paper will discuss three major contributions of Sikhism: a better understanding of
the mental problems, an alternative psychotherapeutic paradigm, and a new ideal
of mental health.
